Mrs. Casellas multi-disciplinary practice spans the full spectrum from complex commercial litigation, contract law, to privacy and information management, energy regulation law, government affairs, PROMESA, and intelectual property. She routinely advises and represents clients with respect to matters involving ownership, licensing, and infringement of copyright and trademarks, and protection of trade secrets. She has successful secured injunctions enforcing restrictive covenants and protecting trade secrets on behalf of successful and high-profile clients. She has represented clients in domain name dispute resolution cases before the World Intelectual Property Organization forum. Her experience in intelectual property ranges in the industries of entertainment, media, fashion, and technology, among others.
Mrs. Casellas has also been a leading member of the firm’s PROMESA practice group advising client on local law and PROMESA related matters. She has been monitoring Puerto Rico’s debt restructure process prior to the first filing of the Title III petitions. As a member of the PROMESA practice group, she is mostly involved in areas of government affairs and litigation.
She has gained extensive knowledge on government owned utilities in the Island, such as the Puerto Rico Energy & Power Authority. She has worked on numerous energy matters, representing clients in administrative and judicial enforcement proceedings, and advising clients with respect to the new energy landscape in Puerto Rico resulting from the legislative and regulatory changes in the energy sector following the approvals of The Energy Public Policy Act and the Puerto Rico Electrical System Transformation Act, among others.
Mrs. Casellas also maintains a robust practice with regard to health regulation and licensing litigation under Act 2-1975, known as the Certificate of Necessity and Convenience Act, advising and representing client before administrative and judicial proceedings
