She has significant experience in the technical and legal issues of the complex tax field, including: (i) assist local and foreign businesses on corporate tax planning under PR and US federal income tax laws; and obtain rulings and closing agreements on behalf of companies and individuals from the PR Treasury Department; (ii) provide estate planning advice to PR and non PR born individuals, including US citizens relocating to PR; and draft wills, trusts and powers of attorney; (iii) specialize on estate division matters, including decedents that were non PR residents owning real estate in PR, and preparation of PR and US federal estate tax returns; (iv) advise US citizens residing in PR and foreign countries on the IRS voluntary disclosure alternatives for undisclosed offshore accounts, and federal tax compliance; (v) provide tax reporting advice to brokerage firms and clearing houses; (vi) negotiate tax incentives grants for companies and individuals under different PR tax incentives programs; (vii) advise on PR taxes, such as sales and use tax, real and personal property taxes, gift and estate taxes, excise taxes, and municipal license taxes; and (viii) draft PR legislation on tax and estate planning matters.
