International Tax Review, a London based international tax magazine widely recognized as the world’s most authoritative publication on international tax issues, named AMG “Puerto Rico Tax Disputes Firm of the Year”. The coveted award was presented at the Americas Tax Awards ceremony held in New York City on September 27, 2012. Awards were also presented to prominent tax firms from Latin America and the United States.
International Tax Review researchers that conducted the investigation of the Puerto Rico tax firms concluded that AMG deserved the award because of its successful track record in municipal license tax (“patente” tax) litigation during 2012. At the ceremony, International Tax Review indicated that AMG’s defense of the constitutionality of tax exemption grants issued under the Puerto Rico Tax Incentives Act of 1998 at the trial and appellate court level, was the decisive factor for AMG’s selection.
We are very proud of this acknowledgement of our expertise in tax litigation and will continue striving to provide excellent tax services to our clients.
